Easton Peters of DD Bent Street, Worthmanville, Georgetown, was on Friday arraigned for an assault charge at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Peters denied the charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly.It is alleged that on June 5, 2018, Peters and his common-law-wife, Elesha Leech had an argument, which resulted in him assaulting her with intent to cause bodily harm.Citing the prevalence of the offence, the prosecution asked that Peters be remanded to prison since he was previously charged for an offence of similar nature.The prosecution’s submission was upheld and Peters was remanded.The matter is expected to continue on June 15.
